The Darley Dale Funday Six A side tournament was a huge success on and off the pitch for the Juniors.
26 teams from Darley Dale Juniors,Matlock Juniors, Tansley Juniors, Ashover JFC and Wirksworth took part in the tournament
which took place in glorious sunshine on Sunday 27th of June.
And the lads from Darley Juniors did the club proud as the Under 7s, Under 8s and Under 9s all won their respective
age group competitions against strong teams from other local junior football clubs.
Congratulations to all the players in those teams on their success and a special mention for Darley under 12s who
pushed Tansley all the way in the under 12s final only to suffer the heartbreak of losing on penalties.
The success on the pitch was matched with the tremendous work of the clubs volunteers who organised the tournament,
officiated the games and gave up their time to run the bbq and club stall - not only for Sunday's junior six a-side
but also for Saturday's senior tournament that took place the previous day with 14 local teams taking part.
Tommy's Tornadoes eventually picked up the senior title.
The funday tournaments raised over œ800 in total, all of which will benefit all the children who play for the juniors.
The club would like to thanks all the juniors players and parents for their support - Bev Seddon for her help in
organising the tournament and along with Mandy Ferguson running the bbq for the weekend, Julie Marsden and Julie Wilson
for their sterling work on the club stall. John Marsden, Bill Clarke, Rob Marsden, Joe Walton, Keith Hardy, Dave Hayles,
John Dunsby, Jack Wilson, Tom Wilson and Finn Hanney for giving up their time to officiate the games.
Rich Taylor for his support and help, Darley Dale Funday Committee, The Whitworth Centre, and all the parents who
baked cakes for the club stall and loaned equipment to the club to use over the weekend.
The clubs farewell to summer inter-club 6 a-sides will take place on Sunday 22nd August. This is a fun tournament which
brings all the clubs teams together before they go their seperate ways at the start of the season.
It will also feature the under 7s Dads v Lads game.
The club aims to run a new under 7s team next season in the Rowsley and District mini-soccer league and the recruitment
of players for the team is underway .Any Year 1/Reception children interested in playing please contact Rob Wilson

The club has gained new sponsorship for the forthcoming season - Darley Dale Eagles and Darley Dale Hawks new kits have
kindly been sponsored by Rob Aspey of Creation Studios. Rob's continued support of the juniors is invaluable and the teams
kit will carry the Creation Studios name on the front along with the Midfield Dynamo.com logo on the rear as a thank you
to Matt Bayes for all the hard work he puts in to the club's website.
Darley Under 13s have secured new sponsorship with Matlock Green Garage Recovery Services for the forthcoming season and
the teams training jackets will carry the Matlock Green Garage name.
The Shalimar and SCA Plumbing and Heating will continue to be the under 13s kit sponsors for the forthcoming season.
