Photos 20th Feb 2010, Under 9s at Derby County v Swansea
The Under 9s were invited to the Derby County v Swansea City match at Pride Park and had a fantastic day.
Before the match itself both under 9s teams played each other in the JJB Soccerdome.
Honours were even as the Panthers won the first game 3:1 and the Pumas won the second game 3:0.
The kids watched the first half together with parents before going down onto the pitch at half-time.
They then had a team photo in the centre circle before forming a guard of honour with the flags
for the players to run though as they came out onto the pitch.
Quote of the day was from Derby boss Nigel Clough to Rich Taylor as he came onto the pitch and the
lads started coming off... "Come on, get 'em under control!".
He was joking, but then again he's not had to deal with our Under 9s !
As for the match, Derby lost 1:0 to a decent Swansea side. The kids weren't too impressed with Derby's
footballing skills, but certainly seemed to enjoy the excitement of the mass brawl after the game's
second red card was shown for a terrible challange on Robbie Savage !
A big thumbs up to Rich Taylor for organising a great day.
