2012-03-04 Barlborough U11s 1:2 Darley Dale Juniors Panthers U11s
Sunday was a completely different day to the previous week, cold rain turning to snow provided an extra element for the boys at Barlborough Country Park. Starting up the slope it looked like hard work and endeavour was the order of the day as the elements took over. The Panthers defence took control as Barlborough attacked with the full backs, Rhodes and Crarer showing fine form in thwarting each raid. Taylor finally got the Darley machine rolling, moving the ball wide for Knowles and the rampant Allwood to turn the defence and start creating chances.
The Panthers took the lead after a team move down the left. A clearence landed at MoTM Crarers feet, instant control and a sweet pass, gave Knowles chance to step inside, he beat his man and sent away Healy. Panthers fans have seen this goal on a few Sundays this season and it still amazes us all. Running on to the ball Ciaran shoots hard but stops his foot just after connection sending the ball zipping over the keeper but dropping instantly and finding the corner of the goal, just like Ronaldo.
Number two wasn't long in coming for the now free flowing Darley attack. Not to be out done, a move down the right from defence to attack caused all sorts of problems in the Barlborough box. To be truthfull this goal could have been scored earlier in the move but good blocking kept the ball out until it was drilled home from ten yards by Allwood. Now Darley should have gone on to get four or five but the cold was taking effect and a combination of weak shots and the woodwork kept the hosts heads up to eventually pull one back before the break.
With the cold taking hold the second half was a none event and both teams and fans could not wait for the final whistle to get into the warm. Coates, Bayes and Elliott secured the defence and Charlton and Calow worked hard in midfield, Rose showed well up front holding up the ball bringing others into the game. A great effort from a very cold bunch of lads kept the pressure on at the top of the table.

2011-09-18 Darley Dale Juniors Panthers U11s 2:0 Barlborough U11s
Darley's unbeaten start to their league campaign continued with a hard-fought victory over Barlborough.
The first half was an even affair with both teams having a number of early chances, Sam Elliott going close at one end after good work by Bradley Crarer, whilst keeper Jack Coates made a great save at the other.
Darley took the lead midway through the first half as man of the match Ben Bayes met a Scott Taylor corner to head home. Darley had a chance to double their lead soon after with a penalty but Alex Dunsby's shot was somehow tipped over the bar.
Darley took more of a grip on the 2nd half with the defence getting on top of the Barlborough attack, whilst some better passing resulted in a number of decent breaks, James Allwood going close down the right with one of them.
Darley eventually gave themselves some breathing space as a great through ball by Ciaran Healy was clipped past the advancing keeper by Jack Rose. Good work by Kyle Charlton and Charlie Knowles down the flanks continued to produce a number oif decent situations but Darley couldn't add to their tally.

2011-09-18 Wirksworth Colts Rangers U11s 2:2 Darley Dale Juniors Panthers U11s
After last weeks impressive opening fixtures this local derby was always going to be a tight game. The Panthers started brightly playing down the
slope and with some slick passing moves created the first chances. Teal Rhodes combined with Scott Taylor to send James Allwood away who
raced down the right to then cut inside and make the goal keeper produce a fine save. The game settled down after 10 mins with both defences
proving to strong for the opposing attacks limiting the shots on goal. Eventually Wirksworth exerted some pressure and forced Jack Coates into
2 brilliant saves. From the resulting corner the ball was not cleared and the Rangers took the lead.
The second half saw Darley on the back foot, with Sam Elliott showing why he so deserved his man of the match award, From a Taylor corner
the ball fell to Charlie Knowles on the edge of the box who equalised with a firm shot. The game opened up and Wirksworth again took the lead from an unfortunate penalty that could have finished Darleys resistance. Great commitment saw the Panthers drive up the hill and sustained attacks drew them level. Bradley Crarer put over a cross and with the defenders napping Jack Rose pounced from 6 yards to volley into the roof of the net.
While this was not the same confident Panthers of the previous week, with only 11 players, sheer determination saw them earn a point against a good team and big home support.

2011-09-11 Darley Dale Juniors Panthers U11s 8:0 Somersall Rangers
Darley rocketed to the top of the table with a demolition of Somersall in their first game of the season.
James Allwood opened the scoring early on with a cool left foot finish, and it was two moments later as Jack Rose poked home from close range after good work from Kyle Charlton.
Darley were completely on top and it was very nearly three as Alex Dunsby broke from midfield and let fly from outside the box but his shot whistled just over. Ciaran Healy made it three just before half time with a tidy finish, after some neat approach play from Charlie Knowles and Scott Taylor.
Somersall started the 2nd half much stronger but Darley's defence was well marshalled by Ben Bayes and held firm, whilst Jack Coates made great saves from two long range efforts and debutant Teal Rhodes broke up a couple of Somersall attacks.
Sam Elliott and Bradley Crarer both made good breaks from defence down the flanks as Darley started to pile on the pressure again.
Having soaked up the pressure Darley went four up, Rose slotting home following a speedy break by Allwood. Healy made it five, whilst Knowles
let rip with a left foot screamer to make it 6. There was still time for two more fantastic strikes, with Healy and Rose both finding the net
with long range efforts to complete the rout.
